A Little About Me :

My name is Kaitlin Mason and I am a freshman at UNC Charlotte. I am a Pre-Business major in the Belk College of Business and I plan to declare Marketing as my official major during my junior year. This semester I am currently enrolled in English 1102, which is a class based on writing and inquiry. This website is an e-portfolio that I have created to show others my progress in this class and how I’ve grown as a writer. The theme for my e-portfolio is “You Live, You Learn, You Write.” I believe this theme is very parallel to my life as a writer. I am a young woman enjoying the college life, I have learned a lot of new things throughout my freshman year, and I want to continue learning. One thing that is unique about me is that I enjoy writing song lyrics, so writing has definitely become one of my passions. I used to under estimate my skills as a writer, but I’ve always had a desire to become better. My freshman year in college has required me to live, to learn and to write a lot, especially this semester, hence the theme “You Live, You Learn, You Write.” My e-portfolio has five other pages that you will be able to navigate through from the top of the page. The Blog page is where I have shared some of my own thoughts about different prompts and topics discussed in my class. The My Process page is where you will see the process of how I wrote one of my major pieces for a class assignment. The My Writing page is where I showcase a few of my best pieces of writing as well as some of my informal writing pieces. The Inquiry page is where you can view how I proposed an inquiry question about talent and image in the music industry. My inquiry page also includes a subpage based on my research and different ideas that I wanted to include in my inquiry research paper. The last page is the My Thinking page where you will find a reflection on my work for the entire semester. This page also includes a subpage, My Whatever, to show things outside of class that I think are related to what I have learned within my class.
